Here are a few ways to make sure you’re playing to your strengths.
To get the most out of your team in laser tag and karting, it’s important to have a thorough understanding of each member’s abilities. Accuracy, agility, strategic thinking and quick decision making are among the skills that can give you an edge when it’s competition time, so try to assign specific roles and responsibilities that will complement these talents.
For example, if you have a team member with patience and a steady aim, you might set them the task of defending a critical area, or taking out your opponents from a distance. If you have someone who’s quick and observant on your team, you can send them out as a scout to assess the opponent’s positions, capture strategic positions quickly. Adapting your strategy on the fly takes good leadership know-how, so if you’re lucky enough to have the boss on your team, take advantage of their training.
A good team stays in constant communication with one another. Encouraging open and constant (but focused) chat among your team members will help you share information about strategies and areas to avoid, corners that are difficult to navigate, and the numerous unexpected challenges you’ll find on the twists and turns of our karting tracks. If you’re keen to surprise your adversaries, you could even develop a set of hand signals to help you maintain stealth in the arena.

If you have someone on your team who has clear and concise communication skills, they’ll be good at relaying important information such as enemy positions, strategies and overall team coordination, ensuring that everyone is on the same page.
Marginal gains add up to impressive results – and you’ll find opportunities on our track and in our battle area to make the most of your time by working as a team. In a longer go-karting race like our Le Mans style race, efficient pit stops and driver changes are crucial – so take time to allocate specific roles to your team to ensure your driver is buckled in safely and away before your opponents have even swapped helmets. Minimising the time spent in the pits can have a significant impact on your team’s overall performance, and help you maintain a competitive edge.
To be efficient in laser tag takes a bit of cunning – staying calm and focused is one way to make the most of your time in the arena. Staying alert and aware of sounds and footsteps can keep you one step ahead of your competitors and keep you aligned with your team’s movements. Target selection and priority is one of our favourite sneaky tricks, though – if your opponent’s team has a particularly skilled player or have cleverly positioned themselves in an advantageous position, send an assassin in to take them out first and you’ll gain the upper hand. Here at Teamworks, we’re revving our engines for the upcoming Formula 1 season, kicking off on the 5th March in Sakhir. If, like us, you have a need for speed, you’re probably on top of the latest news – but we thought we’d draw everything together into one convenient place. After all, making sure things run as smoothly as possible for you is sort of our thing.
More Races Than Ever
The race calendar has continued to expand after the changes that were brought in to handle COVID, and the current calendar is the biggest-ever, with a whopping 23 races scheduled for the upcoming season. (Last year there were only 22, after the Russian GP was cancelled.)
Not having enough races is an issue close to our heart here at Teamworks, which is why we designed our Unlimited Karting package to make sure a visit to our track always leaves you satisfied. For the Karters who just can’t get enough, Monday nights at our karting venues provides a solution for drivers who are sixteen years or older.
The Dream Team
Red Bull aren’t changing their line-up this year, which makes three seasons in a row with Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez behind the wheel. Mercedes are following suit, with Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, while Ferrari are sticking with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.
If your dream team is feeling the itch to put the pedal to the metal, you might want to consider our Team Racing package, which is perfect for adult groups of 30+ drivers. You’ll be guided through qualifying rounds followed by a 2 hour Le Mans style race – it’s the ultimate corporate event.
Reinventing the Wheel
F1 teams will have been putting the finishing touches on their new cars – after all, they should have been ready to run by the 25th February. With Red Bull launching theirs on February 3rd, F1 fans have been given plenty of time to anticipate the upcoming season. In 2022, a new set of rules were introduced to ensure “dirty air” was kept to a minimum without affecting the aerodynamics too much.
The cars were only a second slower overall in comparison to 2021, a gap which was largely addressed by their pace in the higher-speed corners. However, porpoising and bouncing caused discomfort and visibility issues for the drivers. In 2023, the FIA has introduced changes to mitigate that, ensuring wild oscillations are kept in check.
At Teamworks, our karts are fast! Our adult karts can hit 40mph, while our cadet karts can reach up to 25mph. We’ll always start a karting session with a security briefing to make sure everybody on the track is driving safely. 1: Listen to the track staff
Our team go karting every day! We know the braking zones and the best overtaking place. We are also keen to make sure that you are safe.
2: Respect your karts
These are some serious pieces of kit. The fastest way around the track is not to throw them around or into other karts or the barriers
3: Learn the track
Everyone gets a practice, so spend the first lap getting used to your kart and the track. Once comfortable, it is then time to put your foot flat!
4: Steer smoothly
Smooth steering means less friction which means a faster kart.
5: Concentrate
Be aware of what you are doing and what your competitors are doing. Respond quickly to karts in front of you. It may be your only chance to pass (or not crash)
6: Bring some credit card!
Our cafes and bars are great places to keep fuelled for your day! Indulge in some fantastic Pizzas during your event and enjoy a pint with us, after you race!
