The new F1 season

Here at Teamworks, we’re revving our engines for the upcoming Formula 1 season, kicking off on the 5th March in Sakhir. If, like us, you have a need for speed, you’re probably on top of the latest news – but we thought we’d draw everything together into one convenient place. After all, making sure things run as smoothly as possible for you is sort of our thing.

More Races Than Ever

The race calendar has continued to expand after the changes that were brought in to handle COVID, and the current calendar is the biggest-ever, with a whopping 23 races scheduled for the upcoming season. (Last year there were only 22, after the Russian GP was cancelled.)

Not having enough races is an issue close to our heart here at Teamworks, which is why we designed our Unlimited Karting package to make sure a visit to our track always leaves you satisfied. For the Karters who just can’t get enough, Monday nights at our karting venues provides a solution for drivers who are sixteen years or older.

The Dream Team

Red Bull aren’t changing their line-up this year, which makes three seasons in a row with Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez behind the wheel. Mercedes are following suit, with Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, while Ferrari are sticking with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.

If your dream team is feeling the itch to put the pedal to the metal, you might want to consider our Team Racing package, which is perfect for adult groups of 30+ drivers. You’ll be guided through qualifying rounds followed by a 2 hour Le Mans style race – it’s the ultimate corporate event.

Reinventing the Wheel

F1 teams will have been putting the finishing touches on their new cars – after all, they should have been ready to run by the 25th February. With Red Bull launching theirs on February 3rd, F1 fans have been given plenty of time to anticipate the upcoming season. In 2022, a new set of rules were introduced to ensure “dirty air” was kept to a minimum without affecting the aerodynamics too much.

The cars were only a second slower overall in comparison to 2021, a gap which was largely addressed by their pace in the higher-speed corners. However, porpoising and bouncing caused discomfort and visibility issues for the drivers. In 2023, the FIA has introduced changes to mitigate that, ensuring wild oscillations are kept in check.

At Teamworks, our karts are fast! Our adult karts can hit 40mph, while our cadet karts can reach up to 25mph. We’ll always start a karting session with a security briefing to make sure everybody on the track is driving safely. We also have Public Liability Insurance and Risk Assessments – if your business or school requires those documents, you can get in touch with your Event co-ordinator or email info@teamworkskarting.com and we can send them over.

Tips for a top day out

Our Operations Director has raced in multiple race series, from Karting to Rally and has won several championships. Here he shares some pointers to ensure you have a top day out karting, with Teamworks Karting!
1: Listen to the track staff
Our team go karting every day! We know the braking zones and the best overtaking place. We are also keen to make sure that you are safe.
2: Respect your karts
These are some serious pieces of kit. The fastest way around the track is not to throw them around or into other karts or the barriers
3: Learn the track
Everyone gets a practice, so spend the first lap getting used to your kart and the track. Once comfortable, it is then time to put your foot flat!
4: Steer smoothly
Smooth steering means less friction which means a faster kart.
5: Concentrate
Be aware of what you are doing and what your competitors are doing. Respond quickly to karts in front of you. It may be your only chance to pass (or not crash)
6: Bring some credit card!

Our cafes and bars are great places to keep fuelled for your day! Indulge in some fantastic Pizzas during your event and enjoy a pint with us, after you race!

For those with a ‘green’ conscience – electric karts! Electric you say? Yep!….the UK’s fastest indoor karts. Surprisingly quick because of their powerful motors, Teamworks Karting’s Hertfordshire track is a sensational facility that is well worth the visit. Electric v Petrol

We run both Electric and Petrol karts at Teamworks Karting and most people ask “Are Electric karts slower?” The answer is a resounding “NO” While electric karts are slightly heavier, they have significantly more power. In addition, due to the nature of electric motors, the power is much more instant and the performance of the kart is more responsive. The net effect is that they are completely comparable and particularly on tight and twisty tracks will in fact be quicker. Many of our customers prefer electric because they don’t leave our venues with their ears ringing and the clothes smelling of fumes. For us….the switch to electric has never been more simple.

Corporate Away Days

Corporate Away Days – A free day off work? A social nightmare? The chance to beat your colleagues in some macho event? An opportunity for Management to develop better inter team relationships?

Teamworks Karting runs two Midland’s Karting venues, one Northampton and one Hertfordshire venue, two of which have Laser Tag arenas! Karting, to many, conjures up images of macho guys in dirty racesuits, trying to prove they could be the next Lewis Hamilton. Laser Tag, surely that is just for kids? Think again.

Teamworks Karting operates state of the art kart circuits, laser tag arenas, gives racers immaculate race suits, houses impressive conference facilities and offers sumptuous catering options. We even have bars! The first question our dedicated Events team will ask prospective corporate customer, is “Why?” To make the most of a corporate away day, it is essential Event Organisers know why they are bringing the team out of the office. There are loads of reasons, from “Stress busting”, teams hitting target, an away from the desk brainstorm. Once the reasons why are sorted, our Events team will guide prospective customers to a format which suits the companies requirements. If pure relaxation is the purpose of the day, formats to suit will be constructed to encourage people to participate in a fun event, rather than think about work. If the team need to brainstorm, we will ask you to consider using the meeting rooms, with a clear beginning, middle and end of the day, usually including some Karting or Laser Tag. Teamworks Karting try to break the mode of formulaic, dull and often unproductive away days where the same people every year create the same agenda. Check out our testimonials to see how this is working for some great companies and then call our Events team on 01217036160!

National Award for Teamworks Karting Series

Pertemps Network Group has won the ‘Most Effective Team Motivation Event’ at the Recruiter Investing in Talent Awards 2017.

The award recognised the huge success the annual Pertemps Network Group Go-Karting Championships, run at Teamworks Karting circuits, achieves in motivating teams to perform even better across the group.

The judging panel, comprising leading experts and specialists from the world of business and recruitment, was highly impressed with the fact that the event involved all teams and divisions, creating enhanced team bonding, motivation and competitiveness.

For the five years the event has been running, Pertemps Network Group has seen an increase in both turnover and profit. The company also expects to see a longer-term return on investment, in building a chain of impact, developing customer service skills through networking and developing confidence and competitiveness with the goal of creating future leaders promoted from within.

Pertemps is also confident that the Go-Karting Championships will enhance retention with participants who took part in this year’s event giving positive feedback, agreeing that their motivation had improved following participation.

Dee Doke, Editor of Recruiter, said: “Just when we think there has never been a more critical time for recruiters to demonstrate their expertise and commitment in their sectors, yet another scenario unfolds in which the focus is even more on how recruiters can serve their clients – in this case, Brexit. And to provide clients with the very best services in these uncertain times, recruiters must get creative about motivating, inspiring and retaining the people who fuel their businesses to ever greater heights.”
