The celebration season is almost upon us, and across the country something terrible is happening. In your group chats, in christmas party planning meetings, people are agreeing to go to the same restaurant you went to last year. The same set menu. The same dry turkey. The same little sausages in a little ramekin filled with honey mustard. It’s fine, it’s a night out – the little sausages are quite nice, actually.

It’s just that, in an alternative universe – the one where you read this article – you’re three inches off the ground, foot slammed down on the pedal, hunting down a colleague from Finance who you had no idea was this competitive.

The Christmas Party

Every December, somebody is given the job of taking thirty desk-bound colleagues and making them bond over a function room and Secret Santa. Every December, they do an admirable job, but it only ever half works. We’ve noticed that when you put a group on the grid, the entire social order collapses within a couple of laps.

There’s a shared goal, a bit of an edge, and a genuine reason to talk to people you only ever email. Once the helmets come off, the food and drinks get served in our onsite pitstop, the whole race gets rerun verbally a few times – that’s a proper day out.

And you don’t need to know your apex from your elbow, either. First-timers are usually the ones with the biggest grins by the end – because there’s very little in life quite as satisfying and learning you’re faster than you thought. Better yet, faster than your boss.

Festive Catch-Ups

It’s not just the office that benefits from shaking things up. Christmas is a time for festive drinks with pals, catching up with people you haven’t seen all year, getting together with extended family and friends from school. You could take them for dinner and cocktails, or you could absolutely thrash them in a battle of nerves.

Some of the best racing of the year happens in that odd no-man’s-land after Christmas, when nobody’s sure what day it is, and the sofa starts feeling more like captivity than comfort.

Old school friends owed a rematch. Families who can’t face another board game. The lights are on, the track is open, and maybe it’s Tuesday or Thursday or Sunday – who cares, you’re winning.

Christmas Comes Quickly

Fair warning – our weekend slots go first. The big evening bookings go straight afterwards. Leave it too late, and you’ll be racing at an awkward hour with half your group missing. But if you call now and beat the Christmas Party rush, our events team will help you find the date you actually want, and give everyone something worth arguing about.

So, skip the set menu, bring your crew and settle some scores to close out 2026. Book your festivities at Teamworks Karting. 🏎️🏁

September can be a bit of a downer. Suddenly the carefree chaos of summer is swapped for timetables and homework. But here’s the good news: back-to-school doesn’t have to mean back-to-boring. A weekend at Teamworks Karting – in particular, one with laser guns and battle armour – is the ultimate way to blast away those blues and kickstart the school year with a bang.

Or, you know, a pew pew pew.

Set the Tone

Back-to-school parties are quickly becoming the secret weapon for parents who want to make September feel special. Think of it as a “last hurrah” for summer – a way to turn the post-holiday slump into something your child will be buzzing about all term.

The first weeks of school set the mood for the whole year. Give your child the confidence boost of an unforgettable hangout with friends, and watch them walk into the classroom with their chin resolutely up.

Fire Up the Fun

Back to school means new classmates, new social groups, and new anxieties. Laser tag wipes all of that away in minutes. From the moment the vests go on, the neon lights go up, the music starts, and the arena opens up into ramps, sniper holes and hidden corners, kids who’ve been nervous about starting a new year and making new friends suddenly become fearless team leaders, sneaky snipers, or heroic defenders. Our lasertag arena levels the playing field instantly: no experience needed, no special skills required: just point and zap!

Nothing builds a bond faster than ducking behind cover together or shouting out strategies mid-battle. Before long, the squad will be high-fiving and laughing over dramatic dodges. It’s the perfect way to turn ‘I don’t know anyone’ into ‘this is my team’.

And why stop at laser tag? Across the UK, Teamworks venues offer so much more. Take the excitement to the track with high-octane indoor go karting, and feel the adrenaline as you race wheel-to-wheel on professionally designed circuits, perfect for competitive spirits who want bragging rights.

Or if your speed demons are obsessed with gaming, our state-of-the-art racing simulators let them step into the driver’s seat of a virtual race car – complete with force-feedback steering wheels, pedals, and huge screens. It’s the closest you’ll get to the real thing without a Formula One contract.

Here for Parents

Let’s be real: hosting can be a hassle. Activities that fizzle out after five minutes, food and drinks (with a booklet of dietary requirements), and a mess that somehow takes days to clean up. At Teamworks, all of that stress vanishes. Our arenas are built to thrill, our games keep the energy up, and our party packages mean you don’t have to lift a finger. Add food and drink from our on-site kitchen to the mix, and suddenly you’ve got a fun day out that’s as easy for parents as it is exciting for kids.

So, forget the back-to-school blues – let’s light them up with lasers. 🏎️🏁
